Privacy policy
This policy covers games made by PortalUse Studios, starting with PortalHole (Android app, and the browser version at play.portaluse.com). It explains what the game stores about you and why.
What we store
- Game progress: coins, upgrades, portals, stars, scores, missions, settings and anything you bought. Saved on your device and on our server so it isn't lost.
- A guest account: a random ID and token created the first time you play, so progress can be saved without signing in.
- Leaderboards: your player name and scores, which other players can see.
- Play statistics: which days your account played, and counts of levels started, cleared, failed or quit, ads watched and purchases made. We use these totals to tune difficulty and see whether players come back.
- If you sign in with Google: the email address on your Google account (and your first name, as your leaderboard name if you haven't picked one), used only to recognise your account across devices.
- If you sign in with email (browser only): your email address, used only to send you a sign-in link and recognise your account.
Ads
The Android app shows ads through Google AdMob: ads you choose to watch for a reward (coins, a power-up or more time), and a short ad when you start the first level of each new world. Google may collect your device's advertising ID, approximate location from your IP address and how you interact with ads, to show and measure ads. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. Buying Remove ads turns off the ads at the start of new worlds.
Purchases
Purchases go through Google Play. We never see your card or payment details, only which item you bought, so we can give it to you.
Links to our pages
The game can open our YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook pages in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies; the game does not link your account to them.
What we don't do
- We never sell your information.
- We only share it with the services listed on this page, which run the game for us.
- We don't ask Google for anything beyond your basic profile (name, email and ID).
- Our games are not directed at children under 13.
Where it's kept
Data is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts our servers. Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. Ads are served by Google AdMob and purchases are handled by Google Play.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and everything linked to it at any time. See Delete account.
