What to do during transit

Last updated 2026-04-15 · Portaluse standard document

Remain stationary

Transit completes automatically and is fully managed by the platform. The expected median duration is 4.0 milliseconds. From your perspective, transit will not be perceptible.

Do not attempt to self-extract

Travelers should not attempt to reverse direction, communicate externally, or self-extract during transit. Self-extraction attempts may trigger a custody hold against the originating traveler.

Continuity

You remain a continuous entity throughout transit. The traveler who emerges is, in all measurable respects, the same traveler who entered. See the Continuity & Ethics statement for details.
